Louis XVI encounters

A new series I have been posting on my tumblr over the past month.
I was inspired, as the title suggests, by Louis XVI interiors. The furniture, moldings,
parquet and marble floors, drapes and lighting fixtures were so elegant from that time.
I imagined the romantic notion of a couple frolicking through these rooms, perhaps
locked in the palace of versailles for a night, remnants of their encounters lingering in each room.

Lady and the Sea parts 1, 2, and 3

The figure in this piece was referenced by a photo of my mother's old friend, a loving man who inspired me as a little girl, photographer Fernand Fonssagrives.

A little series for the impending summer! A more minimal and clean approach. I think the new California lifestyle has already begun to seep into my work.

Some new things

Drifting through stories on a rainy day is a timeless pleasure, a new personal piece.

In other news, Brittany Connolly wrote up a lovely in depth article and interview about me and my work in Connotation Press's artisan review section.

Picame Magazine header

Header design created for Italy's Picame Magazine. This piece is really all about the dachshund as I have one named Schnapps. I'm surprised I haven't snuck him in more drawings before but from now on I  will make the effort. E.B. White wrote a sweet little poem about dachshunds that couldn't be truer:
The Dachshund's affectionate
He wants to wed with you:
Lie down to sleep,
And he's in bed with you.
Sit in a chair,
He's there.
You break his heart.

Tales for Growing Up in NY

“Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Native New Yorkers … and Have Probably Asked” is a piece I co-wrote with my longtime friend Luisa Conlon for Narratively about our experiences and thoughts of growing up in NYC.   Read here !

Flaunt Magazine - Ther Mercenaries and The Dictator

New piece I have been waiting to reveal from Flaunt Magazine. I really loved this project, it was much more challenging than I anticipated. The story is descriptive yet ambiguous and beautifully paints an eerie atmosphere. It tells of mercenaries who love their dictator as their god, their child, their brother, their father. He is everlasting and locked in their hearts.

Mundo Flaneur

A review of me and my work on the very cool hispanohablante website Mundo Flaneur!
Even if you don't read or speak Spanish this site is worth a look. I've made lots of great discoveries there. For those of you who read this sorry for the silence lately... I've been updating more regularly on my tumblr but will keep more important posts here.
